 Ingredients

  • 1 and 3/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium-sized bowl until well combined.
In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Mix in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk and mixing until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Divide the batter evenly between the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring the cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once the cupcakes have cooled, you can frost them with your favorite frosting and decorate them as desired.
